PRIMARY CATEGORYAsphalt Contractor
Full-service asphalt contractor for driveways, parking lots and roads across the Baton Rouge area, from new hot-mix installation to milling, patching and crack sealing.
Learn MoreBaton Rouge takes on more than 60 inches of rain a year. The clay under your driveway or parking lot swells when it soaks and shrinks when it bakes. That movement is why so much local pavement cracks in year two or three.
Most of those failures are not an asphalt problem. They are a base and drainage problem that got rushed. We grade and drain first, then pave, and we run both asphalt and concrete crews in house.
As a paving contractor in Baton Rouge, Gulfline Paving builds private work to Louisiana DOTD grade standards. Our crews have paved for FedEx, Academy Sports, Regions Bank and the Louisiana National Guard. Call (225) 464-5378 for a free written estimate.

Paving is more than laying black. If the layout, slope and compaction are wrong, the surface never had a chance. Here is what we control on every job: Because our concrete and asphalt work both stay in house, you are not waiting on an outside sub to show up before your job can move forward.
Every property has a different problem. These are the services we get asked for most across the Capital Region.
New asphalt and concrete driveways for homes in the Garden District, Mid City and off Perkins Rd. We set the slope so water runs to the street instead of toward the garage. Clean edges, compacted base, and most residential drives finish in a day.
Retail centers, warehouses and offices along the Airline Hwy corridor need lots that hold up under delivery trucks. We build a base thick enough for real loads, then stripe and mark for ADA. Night and weekend phasing keeps your doors open.
Gulf sun and standing water pull the binder out of asphalt. Sealcoating puts a protective layer back on and buys years of extra life. Chip seal is a good fit for long drives, rural approaches and church lots that see steady traffic.
If your base is still solid but the surface looks rough, resurfacing costs far less than a tear out. We mill the old top layer, fix soft spots, then lay new asphalt. This is the option we recommend most often in older Baton Rouge neighborhoods.
Concrete patios, sidewalks and walkways get the same attention as a parking lot. Correct pitch, control joints in the right spots, and a broom finish that is not slick when wet. Small pours still get real base prep. Ready for a free written estimate? Call our Baton Rouge office at (225) 464-5378 and we will walk your property this week.

Property managers ask this on almost every walkthrough. The answer comes down to what is happening under the surface.
| What You See | Usual Fix |
|---|---|
| Hairline cracks, faded color | Crack seal and sealcoating |
| Rough surface, base still firm | Milling and overlay |
| Potholes in a few spots | Full depth patching |
| Alligator cracking, pumping water | Full removal and rebuild |
| Water pooling after every rain | Regrade and add drainage |
When we see water pumping up through cracks, the base is saturated. Overlaying that only hides the problem for a season. We will tell you straight which category your pavement falls into.
One local note on timing. During hurricane season we watch the forecast closely, because hot mix will not bond to a wet base. We would rather move a pour by two days than hand you a surface that fails in a year. Past work is shown on our completed paving projects page.

South Louisiana paving is its own animal. Expansive clay, high water tables and 90 degree humidity all change how we build. Our crews work everything from LSU area rentals to industrial yards in Port Allen and Plaquemine. That range means we have seen how the same soil behaves under a car and under a loaded semi.
Our Baton Rouge office at 11997 Airline Hwy covers the full Capital Region:
